Utilização das células derivadas do ligamento periodontal na recuperação dos tecidos periodontais

Abstract(s)
A periodontite é uma doenças inflamatória causada por defice de higiene oral e/ou asociada á doenças sistemicas, que leva a uma perda progressiva do osso alveolar e ao aumento da profundidade de sondagem, e existem pesquisas na aréa da periodontologia para procurar uma solução aos efeitos desta doença. O objectivo deste trabalho é de demonstrar que o avanço da pesquisa sobre as células estaminais pode estar interligado á uma solução para a periodontite, através do estudo sobre as PDLSCs, e da implantação destas células, para uma parcial recuperação do tecidos periodontais. Em estudos conduzidos sobre animais e testes pre-clínicos, demonstraram a sua compatibilidade com o sistema imúnitario e avaliaram os factores que podem influenciar a sua relação com as estruturas adjacentes. Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease caused by low oral hygiene and/or associated to systemic diseases that lead to a progressive bone loss and to an increase of dental pockets measurements. Work’s objective focus on demonstration that the advances in the stem cell research field could be linked to the research to find a solution at the periodontal disease, through the study and focus on the indifferenciates mesenchymals stem cells from dental and peridental tissue, and trough the implantation of those kind of cells in the empty periodontal space or in the areas were bone defects could be found, trough trials on animals and pre-clinical tests, analyzing its compatibility with immunitary system and all the factors that could influence its relation with nearly structures.
