- Aplicação da arquitetura bioclimática em habitações de interesse social: caso de estudo – condomínio fechado ARMONIA, Valledupar, ColômbiaPublication . Vargas Muegues, Juan Daniel; Silva, Hugo Machado daThis dissertation aims to explore the application of bioclimatic architecture in social housing. The aim is to understand the whole employment of this strategy, selected a project that has it in use, in order to analyze the methods and strategies that ensure the quality of life of the beneficiary families and reduce the environmental impact. This research aims not only to analyse the execution of architectural works, but also to contribute to social development and the improvement of the quality of life of communities benefited by social housing projects. For this purpose, it seeks to identify and apply methods and strategies that provide maximum comfort in terms of materials, design and meeting social needs, aiming at making housing accessible to all families. One of the central themes of this dissertation is the perception of the quality of materials and the design of dwellings. Many times, the idea of social housing is associated to low quality constructions or simple design. Socially, we have verified this reality all over the world, in projects that do not take into account sustainability and bioclimatic architecture. Throughout this thesis, two examples of social housing projects that do not apply these principles will be presented, and a third one that uses bioclimatic architecture as one of its fundamental pillars. The aim of this research is to break with the prejudice generated by society and to present solutions to improve social projects anywhere in the world by applying bioclimatic architecture, an interesting and necessary methodology for the present and future of civil construction. Through the analysis of a pioneer project in social housing that follows the principles of bioclimatic architecture, it is intended to understand how it is possible to apply and improve this sustainable methodology, thus contributing to the social development of communities around the world.
