Este projeto de investigação é fruto de pesquisa sobre a opinião dos pais sobre a gestão escolar. Traz à luz, estudos acerca das concepções de gestão escolar, gestão democrática e implicações nas funções do gestor escolar como líder e suas competências na promoção de um ambiente democrático e participativo no processo educativo. O objetivo desta pesquisa é verificar como os pais percebem a acolhida e o diálogo com o gestor escolar bem como o nível de satisfação na busca de soluções aos problemas que surgem no cotidiano escolar. Por quais razões são chamados para ir à escola e por quais motivos vão espontaneamente. Saber qual deve ser na opinião dos pais, a preocupação primeira do gestor escolar numa gestão escolar ideal e se na prática cumpre com este ideal. Esta investigação realizada em escola pública estadual do Estado de Santa Catarina, tendo a opção pela metodologia quantitativa com a utilização de questionário entregue aos pais. O resultado da pesquisa possibilita que se faça uma reflexão acerca do papel do gestor escolar e a própria dinâmica da gestão escolar, e através de sua liderança influenciar os rumos do processo educativo com afinco e competência no sentido de promover a participação dos pais, cujo vínculo é imprescindível na construção de um caminho em que ambos são parceiros ativos e responsáveis.
This research project is the result of research on parents' opinions about school management. It brings to light, studies about the conceptions of school management, democratic management and implications in the functions of the school manager as leader and his competences in the promotion of a democratic and participative environment in the educative process. The objective of this research is to verify how the parents perceive the welcome and the dialogue with the school manager as well as the level of satisfaction in the search of solutions to the problems that arise in the school routine. For what reasons they are called to go to school and for what reasons they go spontaneously. To know what should be in the parents' opinion, the first concern of the school manager in an ideal school management and if in practice fulfills this ideal. This research was carried out in a state public school in the State of Santa Catarina, having the option of quantitative methodology with the use of a questionnaire given to parents. The research results allow us to reflect on the role of the school manager and the dynamics of school management. And through their leadership to influence the directions of the educational process with skill and competence in order to promote the participation of parents, whose link is essential in building a path where both are active and responsible partners.
