Abstract(s)
LPO is a chronic autoimmune mucocutaneous disease that affects oral mucosa, most often jugal mucosa. Most of these patients are adult women. The treatment aims to relieve the symptoms by using corticoids. The diagnosis of LPO should be based on clinical manifestations, and oral biopsy should not be ruled out to confirm the diagnosis and possible exclusion of dysplasia. The role of the dentist is of great importance in the detection, diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of these lesions.
