Abstract(s)

Este trabalho tem por objetivo avaliar o tipo e a frequência dos sinais radiográficos de íntima relação do terceiro molar inferior com o canal mandibular através de radiografias panorâmicas, como primeira opção para diagnóstico e planejamento em exodontias de terceiros molares inferiores inclusos e impactados. As radiografias panorâmicas analógicas são utilizadas e suas classificações descritas na literatura, onde se observou os tipos de sinais radiográficos. Na grande maioria dos trabalhos avaliados, em um contexto geral, foi observado: “Obscurecimento dos ápices”, “Reflexão dos ápices”, “Estreitamento do canal mandibular”, e o “Ápice em ilha”. A verdadeira relação será conseguida utilizando-se a tomografia como método de avaliação.

This study aims to evaluate the type and frequency of radiographic signs of intimate relationship of the third lower molar with the mandibular canal through panoramic radiographs. To evaluate, analog panoramic radiographs are used, and their classifications are described in the literature, where the types of radiographic signs are observed. In the great majority of the article evaluated, in a general context, we observed: “Obscuration of the apices”, “Reflection of the apices”, “Narrowing of the mandibular canal” and “Apex in shape of island”. The true relationship will be achieved using tomography as a method of evaluation.
