“El último que apague la luz”

Abstract

El presente artículo reúne una constelación de textos culturales que tematizan la reciente emigración uruguaya. El cine, la música y la narrativa que analizamos aquí construyen y a la vez son construidos por un imaginario de crisis de identidad que establece un diálogo con un pasado perdido, a menudo des-realizador del propio presente, y valora la nueva migración económica como una opción legítima y aceptada socialmente en situaciones de crisis. This article pretends to show how Uruguayn texts in the XXIst Century (songs, films and novels), construct a particular configuration of the Uruguayan identity influenced by the crisis caused by recent migration. These texts establish a dialogue between the past, perceived as unreal, and a present without future, and they make their contribution to increase the social value of the efforts done by emigrants to leave.
