Abstract

No território de passagem ou confluência do objecto ao sistema, o artigo procura circunscrever os aspectos essenciais da mudança de paradigma no design de comunicação operada pela cultura digital, utilizando o livro e a página como modelos exemplares de reflexo das alterações ocorridas. Do texto ao hipertexto, do plano ao “sítio”, estes artefactos constroem um possível “ecotone” para uma continuidade negociada, i.e. o local onde se encontram “tradicional” e “novo”, história e contemporaneidade, imprensa e média on-line, cultura material e cultura digital.

In the realm of passage or confluence from the object to the system, this article tries to circumscribe the essential aspects of the change of paradigm operated by the digital culture within communication design, using the book and the page as exemplary reflexes of the changes occurred. From the text to the hypertext, from the plan to the “site”, these artifacts build up a possible “ecotone” for a negotiated continuity, i.e. the place where we find “traditional” and “new”, history and contemporanity, traditional press and on-line media, material culture and digital culture.
