A Intervenção Precoce (IP) é dirigida para as famílias e para as crianças, preocupando-se com aspetos que promovem o desenvolvimento da criança, assim como o apoio global à família. É fundamental uma IP com a fisioterapia para se poder rapidamente trabalhar o processo de aprendizagem. Objetivo: compreender a importância da fisioterapia na IP de crianças com SD. Metodologia: A pesquisa foi realizada na base de dados PeDRO, PubMed, WEB OF SCIENCE e CINAHL Plus incluindo artigos experimentais, cuja amostra fossem crianças com SD e onde fosse aplicada a IP, artigos de livre acesso e com texto integral disponível. Resultados: Foram incluídos 4 estudos na revisão bibliográfica, com um total de 206 participantes, que avaliaram a importância da IP em crianças com SD. Conclusão: O tratamento fisioterapêutico de crianças com SD beneficia da IP.Introduction: Down Syndrome (DS) is a genetic condition usually caused by an error in the cell division, more specifically on chromosome 21. Early Intervention (EI) is aimed at families and children, focused on measures that promote child development, as well as global support for the family. An EI with physiotherapy is essential to be able to quickly help with the learning process. Objective: understand the importance of Physiotherapy in the EI of children with DS. Methodology: The research was carried out in the database PEDro, Pubmed, Web of Science and CINAHL Plus including experimental articles, in which the sample were children with Down Syndrome and where EI was applied, articles with free access and with full text available. Results: Four literature studies were included, with a total of 206 participants, that assessed the importance of EI in children with DS.
