Our aim is that of establishing the state of the art in this matter, using as background the empirical study of a well-defined core of regal servants during the realm of Afonso V, king of Portugal. Consagrar um escrito à abordagem temporal dos conceitos de «geração» e de «idade» não constitui um assunto propriamente novo no contexto dos saberes franceses de pendor sócio-histórico nas duas últimas décadas.
