Até agora, a endodontia é o tratamento indicado em caso de doença pulpar, baseado na substituição de tecido pulpar inflamado ou necrótico por guta-percha e cimento endodôntico; contudo, esta terapia convencional não restaura a vitalidade da polpa danificada nem reconstitui o sistema neuro vascular do dente. A terapia endodôntica regenerativa tem chamado cada vez mais a atenção da engenharia de tecidos para conseguir a revascularização e a inervação do dente. Muitos estudos sobre endodontia regenerativa estão limitados ao tratamento de dentes necróticos imaturos, mas tem havido um avanço nas técnicas regenerativas, demonstrando que a endodontia regenerativa também pode ser aplicada em dentes maduros. O objetivo do trabalho é, avaliar o protocolo e prognóstico e dificuldades da terapia regenerativa endodôntica em dentes maduros em comparação com o tratamento endodôntico não cirúrgico.The purpose of regenerative medicine is the restoration of damaged tissues and organs by diseases, tumors, traumas, or congenital deformations. That conventional therapy does not restore the vitality of the damaged pulp without restoring the neuro-vascular system of the tooth.
