Objetivo: Mapear a literatura científica sobre a influência dos fatores ambientais na prática de cuidados de enfermagem em contexto psiquiátrico. Metodologia: Realizou-se uma scoping review segundo as orientações do Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI), guiada pela mnemónica PCC: População (enfermeiros e utentes), Conceito (influência dos fatores ambientais na prática de enfermagem) e Contexto (cuidados de enfermagem em psiquiatria). A pesquisa foi efetuada nas bases de dados PubMed, MEDLINE e CINAHL, abrangendo publicações entre 2014 e 2025. De 68 artigos identificados, nove cumpriram os critérios de elegibilidade. Os dados foram organizados em três categorias: fatores físicos, organizacionais e humanos/sociais. Resultados: A iluminação, o design arquitetónico e a privacidade favorecem ambientes terapêuticos seguros. As políticas institucionais e a cultura organizacional influenciam práticas coercivas e o clima terapêutico. O suporte entre pares, a formação e a coesão de equipa potenciam cuidados seguros e humanizados. Conclusão: Ambientes planeados, políticas humanizadas e equipas qualificadas são determinantes para a qualidade e segurança dos cuidados em saúde mental.Introduction: Mental health nursing practice is influenced by environmental factors physical, organizational, and human/social that affect the quality of care, the safety of people with psychiatric disorders, and the well-being of teams. Objective: To map the scientific literature on the influence of environmental factors on nursing care practice in a psychiatric context. Methodology: A scoping review was conducted according to the guidelines of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI), guided by the PCC mnemonic: Population (nurses and users), Concept (influence of environmental factors on nursing practice), and Context (nursing care in psychiatry). The search was conducted in the PubMed, MEDLINE, and CINAHL databases, covering publications between 2014 and 2025. Of the 68 articles identified, eight met the eligibility criteria. The data were organized into three categories: physical, organizational, and human/social factors. Results: Lighting, architectural design, and privacy promote safe therapeutic environments. Institutional policies and organizational culture influence coercive practices and the therapeutic climate. Peer support, training, and team cohesion enhance safe and humanized care.
