A par da violência contra as mulheres e contra populações socialmente não normativas, o estudo da violência contra homens em contexto de intimidade heterossexual tem despertado a atenção da investigação nacional e internacional, evidenciando uma prevalência que merece ser problematizada. O presente estudo inscreve-se numa metodologia qualitativa, assente numa epistemologia fenomenológica descritiva, com recurso à técnica da entrevista em profundidade, realizada online. Tem como objetivo geral descrever experiências de homens vítimas de violência em contexto de intimidade heterossexual, contextualizando, especificamente, a emergência, o desenvolvimento e a avaliação das suas experiências de vitimação. Foram realizadas entrevistas online e em profundidade, semiestruturadas, a 9 participantes do sexo masculino com idades compreendidas entre os 23 e os 52 anos, autoapresentados como heterossexuais. Os discursos dos participantes foram examinados à luz da análise temática, tendo sido identificados quatro temas: i) O processo de tomada de consciência da vitimação; ii) Maiores dificuldades sentidas; iii) Experiências de vitimação (des)vendadas; iv) A necessidade de procurar ajuda: balanços e perspetivas. Em geral, os resultados apontam para múltiplas formas de violência sofridas em contexto de intimidade, destacando-se a violência psicológica. Destaca-se ainda a vergonha sentida pelos participantes e a dificuldade em pedir ajuda devido ao medo da desacreditação pública face ao incumprimento de uma expectativa social associada à masculinidade hegemónica.Violence in intimate relationships is a complex, cross-cutting and challenging problem for any society concerned with the respect for human rights. Along with violence against women and against socially non-normative populations, the study of violence against men in the context of heterosexual intimacy has drawn the attention of national and international research, showing a prevalence which deserves to be problematized. This study is part of a qualitative methodology, based on a descriptive phenomenological epistemology, using the technique of in-depth interviews conducted online. Its general objective is to describe the experiences of men who were victims of violence in the context of heterosexual intimacy, specifically contextualizing the emergence, development and assessment of their experiences of victimization. Online, in-depth, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 9 male participants aged 23-52 years, self-presented as heterosexual. The participants' discourses were examined in the light of thematic analysis, and four themes were identified: i) The process of awareness of victimization; ii) Major difficulties experienced; iii) Experiences of (un)blindfolded victimization; iv) The need to seek help: balances and perspectives. In general, the results point to multiple forms of violence suffered in the context of intimacy, with psychological violence standing out.
