Os três principais fatores etiológicos propostos pela literatura das lesões cervicais não cariosas são abfração, abrasão e erosão. O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar uma revisão de literatura atual sobre os fatores etiológicos responsáveis pelo aparecimento e progressão destas lesões.Non-carious cervical lesions are formed by loss of tooth structure in the cervical third of the crown and root surface of the dental element (cement-enamel junction), but are not related to dental caries. This type of lesion has been shown to be highly prevalent in the population, but its etiology is still considered a controversial subject. The three main etiological factors proposed by the literature for non-carious cervical lesions are abfraction, abrasion and erosion.
