Mesmo as recentes tentativas dos Estudos Culturais de tomar os fenômenos como híbridos, a partir das instâncias de expressão ou consumo, não são capazes de tecer limites para sua esfera de atuação. Este ensaio busca entender, mais do que buscar respostas para limitar esse objeto, os motivos da angústia entre os profissionais desses campos na tentativa de fazer valer teorias que, hoje, são incapazes de, sozinhas, trazer luz a esses fenômenos. para tanto, compara alguns conceitos teóricos importantes, a exemplo de hipertexto e hipermídia, sob o prisma das Ciências da Informação, da Comunicação e dos estudos da Linguística e da Literatura. A partir das pontuações deste artigo, é possível prever, se não alinhamentos mais nítidos, outras perguntas que, no eixo da convergência desses campos, fazem refletir sobre o texto na cultura digital.The obfuscation of the edges of cultural phenomena across the advent of new media has generated questions that are converging perspectives from areas of Literature, Communication and the Arts to the same object, sometimes called text, hypertext, or even, hypermedia. This essay seeks to understand the reasons for anxiety among professionals of the field in an attempt to assert theories which today are unable to bring light to these phenomena, by themselves. Therefore, compares some important theoretical concepts, such as hypertext and hypermedia through the prism of Information Sciences, Communication Studies and Linguistics and Literature.
