ISSN 1646-4435. 3 (2009) 163-177.1646-4435http://hdl.handle.net/10284/1350Este artigo apresenta uma estrutura conceitual desenvolvida em uma equipe interdisciplinar, visando tratar as relações entre tecnologia e formas musicais, com recorte na música popular brasileira do século XX, e segundo um tecnocentrismo horizontal de inspiração mcluhaniana: a tecnologia, ao mesmo tempo em que é fruto do contexto sociocultural, projeta sobre o real os conceitos de onde emerge. Entre as categorias utilizadas em nossa taxonomia estão: dispositivo, aparelho, aparato, matrizes tecnológicas e funções - aplicadas à compreensão de fenômenos, movimentos e escolhas características de cada momento. Ao final, apresentamos um breve exemplo de aplicação destas categorias e conceitos à indústria fonográfica e ao rádio. This paper presents a conceptual framework developed by an interdisciplinary team to take account on the relationship between technology and musical expressions, specifically on Brazilian popular music of the twentieth century, and according to a McLuhan-inspired horizontal tecnocentrism: technology, whilst a result of the sociocultural context, projects over reality the conceptual structure from which it emerges. Among the categories used in our taxonomy are: dispositive, equipment, apparatus, technological matrixes and functions – applied to the understanding of musical phenomena, movements and choices characteristics of each moment. Afterwards, we present a brief example of application of this theoretical framework to the phonographic industry and radio.porjournal article
