De facto, ao contrário das alternativas tradicionais, a prótese implanto-suportada não possui qualquer apoio sobre os dentes residuais. Desta forma, ela não poderá danificar estes dentes com acções como a mastigação ou a deglutição. Objectivos: Neste trabalho, vamos explicar a consulta pré-operatória em implantologia e os diferentes procedimentos usados nos diferentes casos de pacientes com problemas de edentulismo. Vamos demonstrar a importância desta consulta antes do acto cirúrgico.Introduction: Implantology gives to patients, and to dentists, a solution for the treatment of a multiple teethes situations. In fact, unlike the traditional alternatives, the implant-supporting prosthesis does not have any support on the residual teeth. This way, it cannot endanger these teeth when chewing or swallowing. Aim: With this work, we are going to explain the preoperative consultation in implantology and the different procedures in patients with different caries.
