O médico dentista deve estabelecer um correto e preciso diagnóstico diferencial, quer seja facial quer dentário, do qual dependerá o sucesso do tratamento. O objetivo desta revisão bibliográfica narrativa é perceber o diagnóstico diferencial do sorriso gengival duma forma geral para uma correcta elaboração de um plano de tratamento, que poderá incluir a combinação de varias terapêuticas multidisciplinares.Gummy smile is the term used to describe overexposure of the gum during the smile in the upper jaw.
