Durante anos, a imagem social da mulher tem sido associada a diferentes tipos de estereótipos (e.g., fraca, passiva, vulnerável, maternal, etc.) sendo a mulher considerada quase sempre como vítima e nunca como agressora. A necessidade urgente de aprofundar o conhecimento teórico ainda escasso sobre esta problemática e a dupla invisibilidade do mesmo, constitui, só por si, uma forte motivação para o estudo deste fenómeno. Dessa forma foram desenvolvidos dois estudos, o primeiro artigo é de componente teórica e o segundo artigo é um estudo empírico. O primeiro artigo tem como finalidade compreender com base na literatura as opiniões e perspetivas que a sociedade tem face ao crime feminino e no respetivo crime em geral, que engloba o sexo masculino e os crimes que não são necessariamente de cariz feminino. O segundo artigo pretende caraterizar as atitudes dos participantes face ao crime no feminino, em particular a atribuição causal, a perceção das características e circunstâncias e a reprovação social e judicial da conduta criminal feminina; comparar as atitudes face à conduta criminal feminina entre géneros, grau de escolaridade e situação profissional; analisar a relação entre as atitudes face à conduta criminal feminina, a idade e os anos de experiência profissional.Female crime covers any criminal activity that is practiced by women. For years, the social image of women has been linked to different types of stereotypes (e.g., weak, passive, vulnerable, maternal, etc.) being the woman considered almost always as a victim and never as aggressor. The urgent need to deepen theoretical knowledge still scarce on this problem and double invisibility, constitutes, in itself, a strong motivation for the study of this phenomenon. In this way two studies were developed, the first article is theoretical component and the second article is an empirical study. The first article aims to understand based on the literature reviews and perspectives that society has against the female crime and crime in general, which includes the male and the crimes that are not necessarily female oriented.
