Materiais e Metodologia: Foram realizadas pesquisas nas seguintes bases de dados: Pubmed, Biomed e Elsevier, tendo sido encontrados 88 artigos referentes ao tema, sendo que foram utilizados 19 destes na produção desta revisão bibliográfica. Resultados: Na comparação entre as duas técnicas de impressões orais, foi notável a existência de vantagens em cada uma delas e suas as diferenças não invalidam nenhuma delas. Conclusões: Apesar das técnicas digitais de impressões orais apresentarem vantagens significativas, é ainda necessário maior desenvolvimento nesta área para que a substituição das técnicas convencionais seja definitiva.Objectives: A comparison between the usage of digital technologies (intraoral scanners) and conventional techniques for intraoral impression, focused on the planning of rehabilitation treatments, will be made. Materials and Methodology: The databases of Pubmed, Biomed e Elsevier were used to research and compile a list of 88 articles among which 19 were used to produce this literature review. Results: In the comparison between both techniques, it is noticeable the advantages of each one and the differences don’t discard any of them as a viable option.
