Contextualiza-se também, em vários pontos, a sua obra com a de outros cientistas do seu tempo, referindo as principais descobertas pelas quais foi responsável. Explica-se como conseguiu deitar por terra a teoria da geração espontânea através da criação de uma série de postulados que ficaram conhecidos por Postulados de Koch. Por fim são abordadas as principais doenças infeciosas descobertas por Koch (carbúnculo, cólera e tuberculose) fazendo-se inicialmente uma integração histórica da doença seguindo-se das suas manifestações clínicas, transmissão e formas de tratamento.and academic life of the brilliant and incomparable scientist, Robert Koch. It is explained how he managed to overturn the theory of spontaneous generation through the creation of a series of postulates that became known as Koch Postulates.
