Estabelecer uma relação entre o Nefrologista e o Médico Dentista fica uma prioridade para tratar nas melhores condições o paciente. Esta revisão narrativa foi executada com uma bibliografia de 39 artigos incluídos. Pretende-se tratar dos todos parâmetros que o Médico Dentista deve considerar para fornecer aos pacientes os melhores tratamentos e seguimento possível. Os estudos indicam que os pacientes com transplante renal constituem um nicho de pacientes de alto risco e o Médico dentista desempenha um papel importante e essencial para o sucesso do transplante.The dentist prepares the patient for the operation, follows up to remove sources of infections and does prevention for a better survival of the transplant. A correlation exists between transplant success and oral health. The dentist must anticipate the needs and the oral manifestations in relation to this type of patient. Establishing a relationship between the Nephrologist and the Dentist is a priority in order to treat the patient under the best conditions. This narrative review was performed with a bibliographic of 39 articles included. It aims to address all parameters that the dentist should consider to provide patients with the best possible treatment and follow-up.
