A fusão dos concelhos do Porto e de Vila Nova de Gaia: nota de reflexão temática

Abstract

O texto reflecte sobre alguns dos aspectos que, caracterizando a realidade actual, justificam a oportunidade e o interesse de fusões territoriais de índole político administrativa. No entanto, a menor importância atribuída a limites físicos como fronteira de algumas relações não significa o desaparecimento de outras que naqueles se fundamentaram, que o tempo sedimentou e que os “desejáveis” processos de fusão terão de questionar e de enfrentar.

In this text we make a reflection about some of the aspects that justify the opportunity and the interest of territorial fusing of politician administrative nature, regarding the current reality. However, the smaller importance of the physical limits, as border of some relations, does not mean the disappearance of others which are funded, exactly, in those limits. And this is a matter that those “desirable” processes of fusing have to question and to deal with.
