Este título refere-se à tradução portuguesa do poema “The Raven” (1845), de Edgar Allan Poe, publicada por Fernando Pessoa em 1924. Descrevo as texturas sonoras e as redes semânticas d’"O Corvo" como uma poderosa recriação das correlações som-sentido do texto original. Esta tradução constitui, ao mesmo tempo, uma aplicação dos princípios combinatórios descritos por Poe em “A filosofia da composição” (1846) e um exercício de determinação do sentido através do ritmo que materializa a poética de Pessoa. à luz da noção de tradução de poesia do próprio Fernando Pessoa, "O Corvo" é analisado enquanto paródia translinguística e plágio autoral. My title refers to the Portuguese translation of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven” (1845) published by Fernando Pessoa in 1924. This article describes the sound textures and semantic webs of "O Corvo" as a powerful recreation of the sound-sense correlations in the original text. This translation is both an instance of the combinatorial principles described by Poe in “The Philosophy of Composition” (1846), and an example of the determination of meaning through rhythm that sums up Pessoa’s poetics. In the light of Fernando Pessoa’s definition of poetry translation, "O Corvo" is analysed as translinguistic parody and authorial plagiarism.
